Experience:

As GW's Assistant Provost for International Education, Dr. Jennifer Donaghue oversees The Office of International Programs, The International Services Office, and The Office for Study Abroad. 

Jennifer earned her doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration at GW University in 2020. Her research interests lie in global identity development and international student exchange as a scholar practitioner. An expert in international student and scholar advising, Jennifer also oversees GW’s employment based immigration work for faculty, researchers and scholars. 

Jennifer has facilitated and presented intercultural communication and international student awareness trainings at the university, and has been a guest lecturer in international and higher education courses. She facilitated reverse culture shock activities for Iraqi students participating in the 2016 State Department’s “Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program” in collaboration with Meridian International. In 2017 she facilitated a workshop with the Institute of International Education, preparing grantees for their departure and identity adaptation in the Middle East. From 2016-2020 she was an invited keynote speaker and facilitator for AmidEast re-entry workshops. Jennifer has served as a facilitator of the Diversity Abroad Strategic Leadership Forum from 2018 to present, and co-authored the forum's white paper. She has moderated and been a panelist of the State Department’s “Education USA Interactive Webinars”, and has led presentations in Uganda and Cambodia at Education USA regional forum regarding the international student experience and navigating the visa process.

Dr. Donaghue has been the recipient of two grants from GW University, the first to foster cross cultural sensitivity for campus internationalization, and the second to enhance career preparation activities for international students. She is an active member of NAFSA and has participated in advocacy on behalf of international education on Capitol Hill.
 
Jennifer has also studied and interned abroad in Spain, as well as taught English in Japan with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET).

Interesting Facts:
