International New Student Orientation

All F-1 and J-1 newly admitted international students are required to attend International New Student Orientation. Please read all of the information below to determine what is relevant to you. 

GRADUATE STUDENTS

Orientation: If you did not attend the New International Student Orientation on August 22nd, you must register for the makeup orientation session on September 19, 2017Please use the following link to sign up for the required makeup orientation session. Please print the event ticket or have it accessible on your phone, and bring it to your scheduled session.

International Law Students - You attended/will attend an immigration session as part of your academic program’s orientation. Please contact your academic department for more details regarding your orientation. You do NOT need to register separately for ISO orientation. 

Reporting date:  “Reporting Date” for new graduate international students in programs on the standard GW academic calendar is is Monday, August 28, 2017. (Classes begin on Monday, August 28, 2017). This is the date by which you are required to report to ISO that you have arrived at GW. Watch your GW e-mail in the coming months for more information regarding the check-in process.

 

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Degree Seeking Students

All new undergraduate students, both U.S. and international attend Colonial Inauguration (CI), GW's award-winning student orientation program. 

Orientation- Colonial Inauguration (CI) for new undergraduate international students will be held on Wednesday, August 23 - Friday, August 25, 2017. Please visit the Colonial Inauguration website for more details and to register. 

Reporting Date: The reporting date for new undergraduate international students is Tuesday, August 28, 2017. (Classes begin on Monday, August 28, 2017).This is the date by which you are required to report to ISO that you have arrived at GW. Watch your GW e-mail in the coming months for more information regarding the check-in process.

Important Notes:

  • All newly admitted international students should check with their academic programs regarding school-specific orientations that will be held in addition to the international student orientation.
  • All newly admitted international students are welcome to attend any of the international student orientation sessions or events that do not conflict with their program and school-specific orientation   schedule.
