Vanessa Gbireh

Vanessa is a graduate student at GW pursuing a Master's in Electrical Engineering. After her undergraduate studies, she had the opportunity to work in the oil and gas industry alongside a team of expats from all over the world, through which she gained valuable skills and a newfound appreciation for working with people of varied backgrounds. Her interest in community work led her to serve as a student mentor during her undergraduate studies, a role she continued into her early career.

As an international student herself, Vanessa has firsthand experience with the ups and downs of adapting to a new culture and country, miles away from loved ones. During her first few weeks of transitioning, the ISO office and its resources were essential in providing the guidance and encouragement she needed to settle in seamlessly. Now, as an ISCA, she looks forward to extending a helping hand to anyone who needs it and contributing positively to their overall GW experience.

Outside academics and professional life, Vanessa enjoys reading, hosting her friends, and finding her latest side quest to pursue.
