International Experience:

Melissa Yuan is an International Student and Scholar Advisor at the ISO. Melissa's international studies began in high school, during which she studied for one year in Anchorage, Alaska as a J-1 exchange student.

After obtaining her B.A. and teaching certification, she spent five years teaching Chinese in Singapore. Melissa is also a GSEHD graduate and student staff at GW, and now she is enjoying her reunion with the university as an international Student and Scholar Advisor.

Before joining ISO, Melissa worked as an international program coordinator at a Maryland-based organization that specializes in international education exchanges.

Interesting Facts:  

With her exchange experience in Alaska and 12 years of living in Singapore, Melissa has challenged and conquered both the coldest and the hottest regions in the world!

She loves cooking and always makes traditional Chinese or Singaporean food for her family during festivals.
